The Big Move
New York
New York
Having had decided to move to the USA, there will be questions, doubts, excitement and information on the affects this will have on where my future will go. There is a lot to go over in regards to why I’m going, what it means to family and how it all works out. All posts pertaining to this move will be contained within this page title. It is going to be interesting to see where it leads…..the story begins…..
How this decision came about is built on a number of influencing factors….
1) I had moved (as in sold up everything and flown over to USA never to return) back in 2005 with a job lined up and man awaiting me. Due to a family member over there being critically ill, I flew over before the visa process was complete. Being on a 3month visa waiver, the man awaiting me not being quite what I had hoped for and the visa application being sent to Texas in a 2 year cue, I ended up returning to New Zealand with my head down and yet another start over about to begin. I left a few boxes in the USA with friends expecting to return within the year with appropriate visa’s in hand. This gear is still there in Wisconsin waiting for my return.
2) I have an ex ( the children’s father) in the same town as myself. He lives with his girlfriend of 8 years, and no matter how much I try to live my life there seems to always be reasons for them to interfere. No support with the children, yet a lot of judgment on my parenting skills.
3) A past tendency to run away and start again with a clean slate. Therefore I’m keeping up my yearly gypsy move. Though I have stuck it out here for over 3 years this time, I am well overdue to a moving on.
4) The biggest influence in all this is a wonderful man. Someone who can make me laugh, cry, hope and dream. Who supports me, teaches me and walks beside me. A chance to be happy and content. To try out life the way god intended, co-dependently with a smile on your face and a spring in your step. Working together to make a future.
When I returned from the States back in 2005 I had no idea I would end up employed in a facility that gave me opportunities I would never have dreamt of, working my way up into executive management, on a decent salary and reluctant to uplift back to the USA as originally planned within the year.
3 years later, due to the above influences and medical issues (discussed here) I’m back to looking at the USA as my future home. A much better man on the horizon, options unlimited and a future of discovery.
Only time will know where this journey ends…….
